Trick-or-Treat on the River
Trick-or-treat by canoe or kayak as you encounter friendly creatures handing out treats on the Huron River! Sunday, Oct. 13, noon-5 p.m. at Gallup Canoe Livery. $20/boat. No preregistration required. Children must be 1 year or older. Plus lawn games and s’more making on land. Natural Area Preservation Controlled Burn Program Public Meeting
Tuesday, Oct. 15, 7-8:30 p.m. NAP office, 3875 E. Huron River Drive. Fire is used as a restoration tool in many of Ann Arbor’s natural areas. This meeting will be a discussion about our Controlled Ecological Burn Program.

Play Golf this Fall at our Two Courses
The trees are starting to turn and will make a great backdrop as you play 9 or 18 at Huron Hills or Leslie Park golf courses. Twilight rates begin daily at 3 p.m.; and kids can play for free with a paid adult at either course on Fridays and Sundays after 3 p.m. To schedule a tee time visit Huron Hills or Leslie Park. Learn to make Kimchi
Join Project Grow, Oct. 12, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for a lesson on how to make Kimchi, a traditional fermented Korean side dish. Students will help prepare and mix the ingredients and take home some Kim Chi. Natural Area Preservation Stewardship Workdays
Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. All participants must complete a release form, and all minors should be accompanied by a guardian. Tools, snacks and know-how provided.

* Huron Parkway Nature Area, 9 a.m.-noon. Help conserve this high quality area by removing invasive shrubs and collecting seeds from native plants. Meet at the park steward’s house (3470 Woodland Road, off East Huron River Drive).
*Braun Nature Area, 1-4 p.m. Help us clear away introduced shrubs and collect seeds to keep the native plants thriving. Meet at the park entrance on Chalmers Road.
Sunday, Oct. 13
*Marshall Nature Area, 1-4 p.m. Take part in our efforts to remove non-native shrubs threatening these woods and collect native seeds to spread in other areas. Meet in the parking lot off Dixboro Road, north of Plymouth Road.
