Learn to Skate for Free Today!
Join us at Veterans Memorial Park Indoor Ice Arena, 2150 Jackson Ave., Friday, Nov. 22, 5:30–6:30 p.m. for a free learn-to-skate event. Enjoy 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of open skating. Admission and skate rental are complimentary. We’re also hosting two high school hockey games this weekend between Dexter and Hudsonville: Friday, Nov. 22, 7–9:20 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 23, 7–9:20 p.m.

Golf Season Isn’t Quite Over Yet!
Leslie Park Golf Course is now closed for the season. Thank you to everyone that golfed here this year. We appreciate your business!

Huron Hills Golf Course (HHGC, 3465 E. Huron River Drive) will have their front 7 holes remain open, weather permitting, all winter starting today. Cost is $7 to play 7 holes and $10 for a day pass. We kindly ask that golfers do not cross the street to play. Call for more information at 734.794.6246.

The golf courses have gift cards available for those special holiday gifts. Cards come in any denomination and can be mailed out within one day. Please call either clubhouse for more information or email LPGC, 734.794.6245 and HHGC, 734.794.6246.

Shop local for all your holiday needs
The Ann Arbor Farmers Market, 315 Detroit St., has a wonderful fall bounty available including pumpkins, wreaths, holiday centerpieces, holiday gifts, hot coffee, cider, fall veggies, honey, eggs, sourdough bread and more. Wednesdays in November and December are customer appreciation days. Every vendor will offer a special on Wednesdays only, so come shop around for good deals. Wednesday market continues until Christmas, and Saturday is open year round. Free customer parking is offered in the farmers market lot all winter long; and hours through December are 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday.

Natural Area Preservation Stewardship Workday – Family Volunteer Day
Join us Saturday, Nov. 23, Barton Nature Area, 1-4 p.m. as we celebrate families who work together to support their communities and neighborhoods. Bring your family to volunteer in this riverside nature area. We’ll be cutting non-native shrubs as well as collecting seeds in the prairie. Meet at the Barton Dam parking lot off Huron River Drive. Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. All participants must complete a release form, and all minors should be accompanied by a guardian. Tools, snacks and know-how provided.
