This holiday season, one in seven residents of Washtenaw County won’t have enough to eat and many will turn to local organizations for help. During the Rockin’ for the Hungry food and fund drive, community members can join Food Gatherers and ann arbor’s 107one at Washtenaw County Kroger stores to raise one million meals for food insecure people in our community. Gifts made during Rockin’ will be matched 1:1 thanks to generous community members, including Harold & Kay Peplau and Irene Fast.
“When you make a gift during Rockin’, you will provide meals to our neighbors facing hunger by supporting our network of 170 partner programs and agencies distributing food throughout Washtenaw County,” said Eileen Spring, president and CEO of Food Gatherers. “The generosity of the local community helps put more meals on more tables during the holiday season and all year long.”
Food Gatherers staff and 107one radio personalities will be “freezin’ for a reason” from December 3-8 during a six-day live radio broadcast outside of local Kroger stores. Community members can join us in person or by tuning in to 107.1 FM to hear updates, interviews with community leaders, and donor sponsored power hours.
Donating is easy!
