2021 Spring Soirée with Neiman Marcus to benefit Alzheimer’s care, support and research

Neiman Marcus will host the 2021 Spring Soirée fashion and beauty event May 5-9 to honor caregivers and raise funds for Alzheimer’s Association care programs, support groups and critical research.

The event, now in its 10th year, kicks off on Cinco De Mayo from 2-7 p.m. at Neiman Marcus and offers participants the opportunity to shop through Mother’s Day in store or online to benefit the cause.

“It’s been an extremely challenging year — especially for persons with dementia and their caregivers,” said Spring Soirée Co-Chair Nicole Gopoian Wirick. “We’re thrilled Neiman Marcus has once again partnered with us on this event, and we look forward to being able to support and honor all the wonderful individuals in our lives who are and have been affected by dementia.”

According to Gopoian Wirick, shoppers can support in-store or online through Mother’s Day by mentioning the Alzheimer’s Association.

The event — which has raised more than $300,000 for Alzheimer’s care, support and research over the last decade — features chances to win amazing prizes such as a “Day of Luxury Shoes,” courtesy of Neiman Marcus ($3,000 value), a Fashion Illustration by Nicole Jarecz or a HydraFacial facial by Steven E. Stein, M.D.

Sean Maher with his dad.

“I think we all know someone who’s been affected by Alzheiemer’s in some way shape or form, whether it’s your own family member or a friend of a friend who’s had it,” Jarecz said. “Personally, my grandmother suffered from dementia. It was such a slow-progressing disease that I didn’t see it right away… She was there, but not really there. It’s a terrible disease, because you want to share things with your loved ones. You want them to be there and not slip away. It’s a big issue and it’s something we need to donate to to find some sort of a cure for people.”

Event chairs and lead volunteers include Gopoian Wirick and her husband, Adam Wirick, Danielle Varlesi Petcoff and Andrew Petcoff, and Sean Maher and Paul Mareski.

“The Alzheimer’s Association offered me endless amounts of support at that time when I had never felt more helpless, and I will always be grateful for that,” said Maher, a well-known actor. “This is why I’m so passionate about supporting this event.”

Spring Soirée attendance is free, but all donations directly support the full mission of the Alzheimer’s Association as it provides care and support to those who need it most.
