Winter in the Ann Arbor parks
If you’re looking for something to do in the Ann Arbor parks this winter, consider shopping local at the Ann Arbor Farmers Market every Saturday, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be no market on Saturday, Dec. 26, and the winter market hours of 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. begin Saturday, Jan. 2. Natural Area Preservation has volunteer opportunities scheduled in January. Please visit the website for registration information. With more than 160 parks in the system, there’s no shortage of places to visit. While the competition has passed, you can still participate in the Visit Every Park Challenge on your own, and view the VEP guide to help you on your journey.

There are also countless trails, paths and natural areas for you to walk or hike. Go online to find each park listed alphabetically plus a corresponding PDF map. You can also view the parks by amenities. Get out and about this winter! Please remember to wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart from others outside your household.

Scheduling events in 2021
As you may know, Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation has not yet resumed scheduling rentals and special events due to COVID-19. Annually, we begin scheduling for the coming year on the first Monday in January. This year, we hope to resume park rentals and special event bookings beginning the first week of February 2021. Please note this is only a temporary date that we are currently targeting. We will continue to follow the guidelines from the Washtenaw County Health Department and Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s office with regard to capacity guidelines and physical distancing recommendations. We will continue to update social media and the city’s website when we have a confirmed date. Thank you for understanding.
