Baseball: Skyline opens season with impressive win over Milan

The Skyline baseball team opened the 2021 season last Friday with a definitive 9-3 win over Milan.

Dayton Stampler, Jake Middleton, and Ryan Gensheimer combined for six shutout innings that helped pave the way early. Skyline’s pitching was impressive all day long as the Eagles’ hurlers recorded 11 strikeouts in the opening day victory.

Alex Gerdenich got the offense going with a 2-out, 2-run double. Gensheimer and Owen Tuccinardi each had two hits for the Eagles.

The Eagles also showed off their speed with stolen bases.

The Skyline JV lost a tough 7-6 ballgame to the Big Reds. Jackson Armstrong and Andrew Walworth struck out seven batters over six innings. Eli Bishar and Armstrong each collected two hits apiece.
